Situated in the unlikely location of Erbil, Kurdistan, the Mr Erbil Gentleman club is an inspiring collective of impeccably well-dressed Dandies. Coming from a region that is usually associated with armed conflict, they decided to change the world´s perception of their home region. Their on-point style and striking photos with Kurdistan’s dramatic landscape or the 5000 year old city of Erbil as a backdrop, soon gained them worldwide fame.
Having made themselves a name in the world of fashion with covers in Vogue, GQ, and many other magazines, the friends wanted to give back to their local community. They have been active in supporting the social, cultural and political development of Kurdistan and have been campaigning for women's rights in the Middle East.
The Beatnik brand is custom-made for pioneers such as the gentlemen of Mr Erbil, and we are proud to have them as our brand ambassadors. In the banner video on our website you can see some of the Mr Erbil crew displaying their favourite Beatnik sunglasses inside the fortifications of the ancient Erbil citadel.

Lourens Gebhard is a Namibian accountant-turned-fashion-icon-turned-Beatnik-lover. Some years ago Lourens was living a normal life as an accountant, and decided to drop it all and follow his dreams instead. Fast forward to now and he is one of Africa´s most respected Dandies. Known as Loux the Vintage Guru he inspires people from all over the world with his lavishly extravagant vintage suits and unconventional photoshoots.
Lourens told us that he wears suits every hour of every single day. This proved very true as he rode out in the Kalahari desert on a camel while wearing a blue suit and Beatnik sunglasses. Living in Namibia’s capital Windhoek just at the edge of the Kalahari, Lourens wanted to show us the beauty of his native country. He also encourages more people to explore this undiscovered gem of Africa.
Lourens embodies the Beatnik spirit of following your dreams even when they take you off the beaten path. We are enormously flattered that Africa´s perhaps leading stylist decided to be a Beatnik brand ambassador, and that he loves wearing our sunglasses to his stylish outfits.

Roes Lim is an adventurer, explorer, photographer and guide. He brings his camera, and sometimes even adventurous visitors to the most secret corners of Eastern Java. The kaleidoscopic region of jungles, volcanos, waterfalls and pristine beaches captured through his lens has gained his work hundreds of thousands of followers.
East Java is the rugged eastern part of the world´s most populous island. Covered with rainforests, mountains rising upwards 3700 meters and no less than 13 active volcanos, it requires an expert like Roes to fully discover the beauty of the region.
We are proud that Roes chooses to wear Beatnik for both their design as well as for their performance and protection when he departs for new adventures. He is a true Contemporary Vagabond and a perfect embodiment of the wanderlust that we encourage.

Eric and Mari did exactly what we all want to do. They dropped out of their dead-end job, sold their apartment and set out on a journey without destination and without end-date. Since then, they have been all around the world together and they have been sharing their wanderlust-inciting photos with us.
As true travellers, Eric and Mari are great representatives of the Beatnik spirit. They have set out to truly explore the world with all their senses, and have made the backpack their home. Being modern-era explorers in all that it means, we are proud to call them Contemporary Vagabonds.

As many others in his native South Africa, Choaro Motshoeneng spent his childhood in humble conditions. Growing up with his parents in Johannesburg, they were frequently fighting poverty. Despite this, Chaoro dreamed big and worked hard, eventually gaining an athletic scholarships for both high school and university.
While studying he developed a taste for fashion and his own eccentric style that stood out in sharp contrast to his old impoverished neighbourhood. He started blogging and shared his designs and attires with a fast-growing group of loyal followers. His childhood dream of attending the Italian fashion gathering of Pitti Uomo finally came true in January 2019.
We are proud to have big dreamers and achievers such as Choaro representing Beatnik. Choaro shows the world that all challenges should be faced with determination, an impeccable style and a pair of Beatniks.

Abdul Ghani is an Indonesian avant-garde photographer based in the Javan city of Surabaya. She works with props, composition and different locations to achieve her unique style. The outcome is somewhat surreal and dreamy, and we recommend you check it out!
Abdul showed us around the beautiful region surrounding Surabaya where she has composed many of her art works. In her characteristic way of playing with different shades, and her preference of mellow colours, she took some fantastic shots of our Cloudy whiskey sunglasses on the sea shell-covered beach. Beatnik´s polarized lenses really helps Abdul when working on photo sessions in the unforgiving Indonesian sun.
Abdul is a free-spirited artist that sees the world through a, literally, different lens. As such, she really is what we call Contemporary Vagabond - with little regards for established rules and conventions. That is why we are really proud to have Abdul representing Beatnik.
